Rob's Escape Upgrades
Purchased my first upgrades on Thursday, Aug. 28th, 2002 from fordaccessories.com. They were delivered about 2 weeks after the order. This is what I got:
Ford Moonroof Deflector ($37.00):
Ford Bug Shield ($86.00):
Ford Receiver Hitch
Cover - Black Plastic ($14.00):
Door Edge Guards - Black
Metal ($45.00): | |
Stainless Steel Scuff
Plates - Front and Rear ($90.00): |
As you can see, most these first upgrades are basically to protect the Escape and it's paint.. Click on the upgrade to go to photos and descriptions of my installation experiences.
These are some of the other upgrades I am thinking about...
Ford Mud Flaps - want ones that will match the lower cladding color |
Side Window Deflectors
Auto Dim rear view mirror with compass and outside temp.
Upgrade Front Brake Pads to Raybestos PG Plus (Part #: PGD843M). I've read on the escape-central web site that these pads are very good at minimizing the front wheel brake dust issues.
Upgrade speakers and/or possibly add a sub-woofer so door speakers won't have to handle the bass. I find that songs with heavy bass make the mirrors vibrate.
K&N Air Filter or Comparable
Shorter Radio Antenna | |
Duel Exhaust |
There will be more. As I add items, I plan to make updates and take photos of the installation experiences and keep a record of costs and research.
